Once the Estate Office and part of Kirkennan's historic stable block, The Mews is now a warm, wonderfully cozy holiday cottage. With views out over the beautifully landscaped gardens The Mews provides a peaceful and comfortable base just a short drive from Kippford, Dalbeattie, and the stunning Solway Coast.

The Living Space & Garden

The ground floor features a dedicated dining room, a fully equipped kitchen (complete with a dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer), and a relaxing living room with a traditional woodburning stove (initial fuel included) and Freeview TV. Step outside to your private seating area equipped with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. (Please note: The outside space at The Mews is not enclosed, so dogs cannot be let out the door to roam and must be kept on a lead in the main Estate gardens).

Bedrooms & Accessibility

The Mews comfortably sleeps up to 5 guests. Upstairs, you will find a spacious master bedroom with a King-sized bed alongside a large twin bedroom that has plenty of room for a third fold-out bed on request. The cottage benefits from excellent facilities, offering a ground-floor shower room with a toilet and washing machine, and a first-floor family bathroom with a shower over the bath. (A travel cot and high chair are also available on request).

Guest Access & Estate Amenities

Guests have private parking for up to two vehicles and access to an on-site Type 2 EV charger. You are welcome to make full use of Kirkennan's 74-acre estate, including Jock's Wood and the walled garden (which features a table tennis table). Cyclists will appreciate our secure, undercover bike racks in the Barn, complete with E-bike charging points and a free repair kit. (Note: There is a small stream 100 yards away and a tidal river at the edge of the woods).
