Formerly the historic Gate Lodge, it provides a spacious, peaceful base for families and dog owners. It is ideally situated just 7 miles from the foodie market town of Castle Douglas, and a short drive from the beautiful sandy beaches and coastal walks of the Solway Coast.

The Living Space & Garden

The ground floor features gorgeous wooden floors, a dedicated dining room and a relaxing living room with a traditional woodburning stove (initial fuel included). The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, and microwave. Step outside into a large, fully enclosed private lawned garden complete with a patio seating area, outdoor furniture, and a BBQ—perfect for children and dogs to play safely.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The Lodge sleeps up to 7 guests (5+2) across four bedrooms. The ground floor offers accessible comfort with a King-sized double, a twin bedroom, and a family bathroom featuring both a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Upstairs, a single bedroom leads through to an attic bedroom containing a single bed and an additional full-sized pull-out bed if required. (Families: a travel cot, high chair, and stair gate are all available on request).

Guest Access & Estate Amenities

Guests enjoy private off-road parking for up to three cars and the ultimate convenience of an exclusive Type 2 EV charging point right at the cottage. You are welcome to explore Kirkennan's 74-acre estate, including the landscaped grounds, Jock’s Wood, and the walled garden with a table tennis table. Cyclists have access to secure, undercover bike racks with E-bike charging points and a repair kit. Environmentally conscious guests will also appreciate the cottage's green Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) central heating. (Note: There is a pond, a small stream 100 yards away, and a tidal river on the estate).
